The sequence of coal from lowest to greatest quality is: Peat – lignite - sub_bit – bit - antra. Peat makes more water and has a low amount of fixed carbon and has a very smoky flame. Lignite (brown coal): is native to Ireland. This is not as good as peat. Sub-bitunimous coal: means less water, more fixed carbon. Antracite: less water, high fixed carbon, what you have now is a hot smokeless flame. Which is very good.
