Tyler Lisowski 05/10/2010 Period 7 Explanations for each Song in the Project Explanation for “Dirty Little Secret” by The All American Rejects This song describes Gatsby and Daisy’s relationship perfectly. Gatsby and Daisy keep their relationship a secret from Daisy’s husband for as long as possible. It also shows how none of them were in touch with reality thinking that their secret affair would not eventually found out. The song also talks about two people spending time alone together, like Gatsby and Daisy when Nick is not in the room. However, figuratively Gatsby dream is represented when Gatsby and Daisy are alone, which we know cannot be achieved. Therefore, the “dirty little secret” Gatsby and Daisy share will cause a major conflict that eventually is going to lead to the death of Gatsby and two other people. The “dirty little secret” symbolizes Gatsby and Daisy’s relationship as a whole. Explanation for “Make a Toast” by Dolla
