Managers also can be the gatekeeper or primary audience. Being the gatekeeper or primary audience allows the receiver to be able to accept or decline the proposal in some cases stop it all together. Managers are the judging- perceiving dichotomy. Using a more formal message would be best, written messages such as letters, memos, or reports would be a better fit for this audience. The information within the message needs to be precise. Communicating with managers means straight to the point information that can be seen quickly. Graphical displays can make a huge improvement for this audience type as it is precise and quickly displays information so the receiver does not have to try to picture it or filter through written statistics.
