Part A: Answer these questions: Formal organizations have evolved over the past century. What differences were there in organizations a century ago, compared to today’s organizations? What are the current trends in formal organizations? Part A Formal Organizations Differences in past organizations Past Organizations were strict and rigid and rules were made to be followed by the people below them without question. This type of management was inefficient and unfair to the employees. Distinguishing features as race and sex were a big factor in employment as well. Because the businesses did not want questioned they excluded female who were more likely to ask questions in order to understand, whereas men have an image to upkeep. Openness and flexibility were not existant a century ago and definitely were not before then. There were often many levels in the “chain-of-command” a century ago, creating a strict ruling organization.
