9/6/11 Other Facts Homologous structures We humans and our ancestors are in the class of hominids which gorillas, chimpanzees, and orangutans are in too. Homologous structures we share are opposable thumbs, and a tailbone that is not functional anymore, and other basic parts of our body (also bipaedalism, vertebrate). Vestigial Structures Some vestigial structures are our appendix, tailbone.
