Define Conflict.(Q3) Conflict is and expressed struggle between two interdependent parties that perceive incompatible goals, scarce recourses, and interference from others in achieving their goals. (Pg11) 2. What is the purpose of a dialogue?(Q6) Purpose of a dialogue is to find some shared meaning by learning the other persons points of views, their thinking, and intentions that would help in resolving a dispute. (Pg19) 3. What is the role of perception in conflict? (Q9) Perception is at the core of all conflict analysis. In interpersonal conflicts, people react as though there are genuinely different goals, there is not enough of some resources, and the other person actually is getting in the way of something prized by the perceiver. (p 9) 4. How do power and self esteem function in conflict? (Q10) Regardless of the subjects involved, parties in conflict usually perceive that they have too little power and self-esteem and that the other party has too much of it over them. (pg18)
