EML 4321 --- Fall 2011 Computer Program #1 You are to write a computer program that will solve the line balancing problem and you will demonstrate it for two different sets of work elements. The program will input the following information for up to 40 elements: 1. element number 2. element description 3. element time (minutes) 4. immediate predecessors (up to 5) 5. negative zoning (only 1 necessary) This input may be from a file, from the keyboard, or from data statements in the computer program or environment. (Your choice---your program only has to be capable of one method.) The program will perform the line balancing using the largest candidate rule assuming 88% efficiency on one eight-hour shift. When it is finished balancing, it will print out for each workstation: 1. a list of the elements with descriptions to be performed at that station 2. the station’s working and delay times In addition, the program will print out the following for the entire line: 1. The average percentage delay time
