HW #10-----COMPUTER PROGRAMMING ASSIGNMENT 3 1. You are to redo the textbook's "Example 8.4 Compute Temperature Fields for Four Different Materials" except that you are to do the problem without any heat transfer into the tool. All other details (parameters, geometry of the cut, materials, discretization in both directions, etc.) are to be the same. 2. You are to turn in by the start of class on Wednesday 13 April a stapled packet that includes: - a cover sheet with your name, student number, and statement that this is your own work - hardcopies of the temperature field contour plots for the following six materials (1020, 1045, 4140, 302, Ti-6Al-4V, 7075-T6) similar to F8.18 from the textbook. The fields are to be calculated only for 2 m/sec cutting speed. - a hardcopy of a single plot which shows the highest temperature on the chip for cutting Ti-6Al-4V at speeds of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, …, 3.9, 4.0 m/sec as a function of those speeds. - paragraphs which draw conclusions.
