Ingley PhD,PE F-chart method In 1975 Klein and his co-workers “developed a method of simplified prediction of the performance of a solar heating system based on a large number of detailed simulations for various system configurations in various locations in the United States.” The simulations resulted in correlations with dimensionless parameters that are general in form and usable anywhere. The resulting correlations were plotted in what are called f-charts. See figure 5.21 (solar water heating systems) and figure 5.22 (air based solar heating system).
