Know the location and functions of the parts of the male reproductive system: testis, prostate gland, scrotum, bulbourethral glands, epididymis, urethra, vas deferens, ejaculatory duct, seminal vesicles. Where are sperm made? Where is testosterone made? Where is the seminal fluid made? 20. What happens to the testes during development, usually a month or two before the baby boy is born? Why is this important, and what would happen if this didn’t occur? 21. Understand parts of the seminiferous tubule: wall of the tubule, lumen, cells along the way to becoming sperm. Understand the process of sperm production (spermatogenesis): When does it occur? Where do the following cells fit in: spermatid, secondary spermatocyte, primary spermatocyte, sperm, spermatogonium (stem cell)? Also, know Leydig cells (interstitial cells): specific location, function. 22. Know the parts of the sperm cell and their functions: head, tail, midpiece, acrosome (acrosomal cap). 23.
