The federal Defense of Marriage Act provides a national  definition of marriage, the union of one man and one woman,  thus a heterosexual couple is the only family recognized by the  United States. The public law is a statue of Florida has also  adopted such the same measure. Under this statue, the state of  Florida does not have to recognize civil union, domestic  partnerships or marriages of same sex couples from other states  as well.  This public law recognizes that the institution of marriage hold s  the responsibility of child rearing and procreation and as the  foundation of the cultivation of the character of future citizens.  Thus the government’s interest in this institution is warranted in  the law’s establishment. If marriage was to include same sex  couples then the adoption ban must be struck down and the  protective role of the state in wards of the state. Children are
