1.06 Bone Model
To receive the maximum score of 36 points on this assignment, there are 3 components you must complete.
Please refer to the rubric on Page 6 of 1.06 to examine how each section will be scored by your instructor.
Before you build anything, you want to draw out a basic design of your bone. On Slide 2,
you’ll see a sketch ready to label.
Option A: Build a 3-D Model:
Choose a function of bone that you would like create. (Supporting weight,
OR protecting something soft). Using recyclable materials, build a model bone
including as many parts of the bone as you can. Take a picture of your bone performing its picture and
place it in slide 4.
(DO NOT do both)
Option B: Virtual Bone Model:
Based on what you have learned, design a virtual bone model to include
some parts and defining characteristics of bone tissue. Consider simple materials you would have used to build
your actual model (i.e. newspaper, cardboard, tape, straws, etc.). Complete the chart on slides 5-7 explaining
why your chosen material represents the function of that bone tissue component.
Complete the conclusion questions using complete sentences and with enough
information to answer the entire question. See Slides 8-9
