You will provide a summary of the respiratory system from the perspective of inhaled air. Your description should include: - An organized progression of travel. What organs does the air travel through? What types of tissues and structures are seen within them? What purposes do those structures serve? Air is inhaled through the external nares into the nasal vestibule and then travels posterior to the naval cavity. It then flows through the pharynx which is inferior to the nasal cavity. The pharynx is a cone- shaped passageway that serves both as a respiratory and digestive functions. It has thick fibers of muscle and connective tissue. It then goes into the larynx which is lined by ciliated epithelium and reinforced by cartilage tissue and serves the function of allowing us to breathe, talk, and swallow. It then enters the
