2.Academic typology for regional geography can be formal regions, functional regions, perceptual regions, vernacular regions and nodal regions. Formal region is an area of space (space-time) that enjoys particular (shared) characteristics such as language, religion, or level of economic development and political regions are almost in every regular map. Formal region include political region, also well known as a political map, is the countries that you see in a regular map. For example, a map of the world show the division between China and Russia. This is a political map because it has nothing to do with the actual terrain except the land boundaries.
