In the first sentence, the writer used “I braced for a skirmish in the culture wars when reviews of Juno appeared the very same week that newspaper headlines announced a rise I the teenage birth,” to forecast that her essay is not a typical film review. The writer did not give a detail presentation of the film in the first paragraph. The writer used flashpoint issue to present that the main issue in this film is abortion. This is not a “real” film review; this is an essay to use the film to bring out the vexing social issue. 2. She is appropriated to judge a film like Juno, because she had been gone through the teenage moment of her life and she may have the same feel as the character in this film when she was young. 3. She used Hollywood film as example to show the cultural division in American society regarding the family values debate. Because Hollywood film usually don’t offer up a formulaic or fervent call for family harmony. The writer also said Juno take on the roster of family values issues is as heterodox as her image. 4.
