LIFE IN THE IRON MILLS Woman’s lit April 6, 2010 Rebecca Harding Davis Novella written in the 1861- in the Atlantic Monthly in Willie West Virginia - Civil War- During this time - West Virginia- formed because of civil War o Issues- states’ rights and slavery o HUGE- underlying violence and issue over slavery which is the underlying context.
