Judith Butler (outspoken feminist)- performance expectations Moises Kaufman- his company Tectonic theatre he studied in Wyoming where a boy was beaten  to death on the side of the road. He went to schools and spoke to the  students about gays and homosexuality. His piece was called  the Laramie  project.   THE METAL CHILDREN Adam Rap- play writier. Suitable for showing in Baton Rouge (Catholic state)- may upset people when  it is seen.  All of the young women are pregnant! Main character- Tobin: he is a novelist; published a novel for young adults.  Began in New York: you see the drug dealer and a women down stairs. Burno  (Italian and gay) tries to encourage him. Tobin goes to the heart land: Iowa (upset about his book. Set in a conservative  world! But in the book high school girls are getting pregnant) He goes to defend his book. Vera- Worships the book and built her life from the book!  (FROM THE BOOK) Meredith Miller- she gets pregnant and when she attempted  to tell her father he does not accept her so she goes out in the field, with her  fathers hunting knife, and attempts to abort the baby. She kills herself and the  baby! Tammy- (Christian view point) when she talks of the book she goes off as if she  were filled with the spirit. Tobin- person life: just went through a divorce. Talks about being in a waked out  state when he wrote the book. Stacie: (the English teacher)- was driving Tobin’s truck and crashes. Stacie ends  up paralyzed.

Tobin goes to the hospital to visit Stacie and Stacie reads a passage from the  book! Reberta comes in and tries to save Tobin and asks him home we could  write this book.  Tobin- porky pig mask guy shows up and stabs Tobin.
