Mobile IP holds great promise, but it has been slow to gain popularity. Research Mobile IP and the different situations in which it is used. What are the advantages and disadvantages? In your opinion, what is holding Mobile IP back? Do you think it will become widely used? Write a one-page paper on your research. The different situations you can use Mobile IP. One situation mobile IP is used is for roaming, this provides a mechanism within the TCP/IP protocol that supports mobile computing. With the use of the home agent it is able to use the same static IP on a home network, while the home agent forwards the location of the mobile computer. With this in use a cell phone or mobile computer is able to have the use of foreign networks. With mobile IP you are perceived as seamlessly mobile, your device carries one IP address. You can reach out globally with IP via one home address. With these advantages you also have great benefits. You have the ability to message, email, and use a lot of other applications. You also have the use of corporate firewalls.
