CARLISLE FOODSERVICE Carlisle FoodService started over forty-five years ago as a manufacturer of white plastic storage containers that were sold under the name of Continental Plastics. The company later emerged into a manufacturer of a complete line of plastic products for the food service industry. Ultimately, Continental was purchased by the Carlisle Companies, Inc., a Fortune 500 company that owns several other businesses which range from construction materials to truck manufacturing and medical equipment among others. New York Stock Exchange trading symbol: CSL. Continental has several factories and distribution centers located throughout the United States. Delivery is a big part of the company image and strategy because they have the fastest delivery in the country among food service manufacturers.
