DFM Special Project Guidelines If you are a dietetics student, you have the option of completing the high quality food  presentation/service competencies in a health care facility of your choice. An appropriate facility  would be a hospital, skilled nursing facility, senior residence home, community meal program or  food bank. The ADA requires students become competent in customer quality food assurance.  Therefore, emphasis of your experience must be on providing and serving high quality food with  appealing appearance at safe temperatures.  If you choose this option,  you must find your own facility  and complete 18 hours of  supervised service during the semester.  A signed contract between you and the facility  foodservice manager or dietitian in charge must be given to Sarah Josef, DFM352 lab instructor,

Also, you must write a short 3-5 page paper addressing the following questions: 1. What did you do for your volunteer experience? 2. What did you learn? 3. How might this experience be helpful to your future in the field of dietetics. The paper must be Times New Roman font, 12 pitch, double-spaced with one inch margins.
