Tsihlis 1 Elias Tsihlis SPN Draft #1 7/20/11 Never a perfect family A perfect family, many years ago consisted of a stay at home mom, a father that worked hard for his money, and two children. If the family owned a car, it was only one per family. The ideal family in today’s time is a family that consists of two working parents, two vechiles, two dogs, and four children. It’s been proven that families are the bedrock and the foundation of our society and that the breakdown of that structure is a major decrease in our families today. Two parent households are becoming a minority and many households now consist of a single guardian or parent. Many children either a boy or girl are led to become a juvenile delinquency, which is an up raising problem with single-family homes. Many single family homes focus a lot of changing the behavior of a child that is depressed by a single mother or father. Michael Clark stated in his journal that “ Using punishment to change behavior is the foundation of deterrence theory. General deterrence is the notion that punishing delinquents will deter other members of
