The unspoken understanding among employees of what is and is not acceptable behavior; multiple can exist within one organization. Benevolence Egoism Self-centered approach that focuses on self- interest for the person, company interest for the organization, and economic efficiency for society. Concern-for-others approach that focuses on friendship for the person, team interest for the organization, and social responsibility for society. Egoism, Benevolence, and Principle Principle Integrity approach that focuses on personal morality for the person, company rules and procedures for the organization, and laws and professional codes for society. The components of ethical climates: Compliance-based Approach Compliance-based Approach Seeks to avoid legal sanctions; emphasizes threat of detection and punishment to promote lawful employee behavior. Increases employee ethical sensitivity; employees are more encouraged to ask for advice. Integrity-based Approach Integrity-based Approach Combine concern for law with emphasis on employee responsibility for ethical conduct; employees instructed to act with integrity and conduct business dealings honestly....
