There are many different theories on the origins of life. I would like to talk about the theory of all life starting in the ocean. Scientists know what life is and have theories on the origin of life. Think about it where did life originate? Some like to think to have life you need oxygen, carbon dioxide, water, and food. But they had to originate from somewhere also. Minerals also played a role in the origin of life. “Instead of in an aqueous ‘periodic soup’ on or near the surface of the earth, it has been hypothesized that life may have begun in the depths of the ocean, in the unique environment of deep-sea hydrothermal vents” (Moritz, October). Scientists are able to synthesize organic molecules with reactions involving minerals and gases present at the site. The combination of pressure and high temperatures need to be present for the reactions. These conditions are found in deep-sea hydrothermal vents. From what I understand, this theory is saying that life began in the ocean. Other popular theories
