HASTINGS FAMILY SERVICES FINANCES 2 Hastings Family Services Finances Hastings Family Services receives most of its funding from donations from the community. The community residents and businesses donate cash, food, clothing, household goods, and their time. Different people within the community also hold benefits to help fund Hastings Family Services programs. I found the Walk for hunger to be interesting. People within the community reach out to other members in the community to donate for the cause. They also have the income from the store “Close Closet”. The items found within the store are donated from within the community. Programs Like the rideshare program are 100% volunteer run and funded. This program provides rides to people so they can get to their medical and county appointments, or to the store. The volunteers provide their time and gas for this program. Other programs including the food shelf, emergency grants, and holiday program receive funding threw the community, but they also receive government grants to help fund these programs.
