MEDICAL RECORD SECURITY 2 Medical Record Security Even though it is easy to gain unlawful access to the information, technology is a good thing, because with safeguards people can protect their records and it will help ensure the fastest and best treatment of patients. The key to ensure the safety of personal medical records is knowledge. Knowing the dangers that technology sets in front of the medical field and the precautions they are taking to ensure their patients privacy is important to protect a patients’ rights and privacy. Technology is a wonderful thing most of the time, but in the medical field there are threats we need to protect our clients from. Some of the threats are hackers, viruses, natural disasters, and human error, hazards to hardware, software, networks, and to data. All clients’ medical records are to be confidential. We need to safe guard these records in different ways. The encryption of all client files will help protect him or her. Another thing that we need to do to
