I believe that there will never be accurate literary cannon, because people do not agree on the authors that should be included in the cannon. Much of American literary classics is part of the literary canon and includes works by well known authors such as Henry David Thoreau, Herman Melville, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Emily Dickinson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Walt Whitman, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Mark Twain and Toni Morrison. Their writings are well known, enjoyed, and read from generation to generations. They are also included in most of our literature text books. Unformatted text preview: multiple audiences. But is it a classic yet? Some believe it should be included as do I. The selections I choose show traditions of love, honor, and fantasy. The United States revolves around their literature, as all traditions are included in different pieces of literature. I personally do not enjoy reading much. When I read I like to read the current events, but If I would need to choose different pieces to read I would stick to my poetry. I do enjoy different pieces of poetry, but enjoy reading Robert Frost’s work. My reasoning behind this he is a distant relative of mine. I also have an uncle whom shares the same name....
