Delgado 1 Alexander Delgado Professor Debra Briggs ENC 1102 21 September 2010 Sincere Remorse or Hidden Agenda According to the State of Florida, if someone chooses to drink and drive, they are facing between a $500 to $1000 charge and no more than 6 months in jail if convicted as a first offense. Drunk driving may be one of the most common and most dangerous criminal activities a person can engage in. When someone chooses to drink and drive, they not only endanger their own life, but also the life of every single individual they come in contact with. On the other hand, do these individuals who choose to drink and drive fully consider the consequences and accept full liability? In most cases, the answer is no. Through the distortion of his drunken stupor, Eric Smallridge committed the heinous act of driving under the influence of alcohol which led to the death of two young ladies. However, through the use of sympathy and sincere remorse, Smallridge continues to promote the awareness of drunk driving and strives to exact the painful repercussions he caused to society.
