Last time… We covered the concept of “static discipline” The whole circuit obeys a contract to provide output voltages at two discrete levels If our circuit runs on a 5 VDC supply, then these two levels might be 0 V and 5 V They might wiggle a little but that is okay We can relate these levels to 0’s and 1’s for binary operations

Logical Operations We know the basic operators AND/OR/NOT There is one other curiosity to explore… Q = AB + AB A B Q 0 0 0 0 1 1 1 0 1 1 1 0 This is called an XOR gate Only one of A or B is true! This is an “exclusive” OR = A B
