Temperature – too high can lead to improper cooling; too low can undergo thermal shock Humidity – too high can cause corrosion, too low humidity can lead to some materials changing shape. 2. What are the direct and indirect threats posed by fire? Direct – damage to components depends the on temperature of the fire. Indirect – smoke damage, heat can cause improper cooling, water damage from fire suppressant systems. 3. What are the threats posed by electrical power? Under voltage – will trigger a system shutdown if the under voltage is too long or above a 20% reduction. Over Voltage – can cause physical damage to components on the network. Noise – can cause logical errors. 4. List and describe some measures for dealing with inappropriate temperature and humidity. By having the equipment room cooled/heated by a cooling/heating system set to a constant temperature and humidity will reduce any problems caused by these.
