Guideline for Project Proposal Background There are millions of types of pollutants/industries/scenarios you can select. Describe why the problem/subject you choose is interesting and important to be investigated. Persuade and excite your reader/audience (in this case, it's Dr. Wu) that this subject instead of others deserves study and resources (e.g. your time). Don't say it's important simply because you think it's important. Dr. Wu certainly has no problems arguing back it's NOT important with millions of "I don't think it’s important". Provide evidence (which should show in your References section and remember to cite it). Imagine yourself as a salesman. (Believe it or not, we are all salesmen, in a broad definition). Objectives State clearly what you want to achieve by the end of the project . The scope should be appropriate, not too big (so that you can't achieve it without 40 hours/week plus 10 full weeks of hard work) and not too small (so that nobody realize you actually have a project). Be specific so that they can be evaluated
