Glossary of Street Terms This glossary contains terms often used by AOD users and heard “on the streets.” Because slang changes rapidly and is often regional in nature, you may find different or additional terms used in your community. Bad trip: A panic reaction or other seriously disturbing psychological reaction to a drug. Bag: An amount of retail unit of heroin sold on the street, as in “nickel bag.” Base: Crack, a form of cocaine that can be smoked. Blunt: Marijuana and/or cocaine inside a cigar. Bogart: Keeping a marijuana cigarette to oneself as opposed to passing it to others in the groups. Bong: A large cylindrical water pipe for smoking marijuana. Bummer: A bad experience (bad trip) from a drug. Clean: Not using drugs. Coming down: To be experiencing the gradual disappearance of a drug’s effects as the drug wears off. (Crash is to come down rapidly and experience negative physical or emotional reaction.) Cop: To obtain or buy a drug. Cut:
