Such an event as 9/11 in no way would resemble a designation memorial due to the fact that it was a tragic event in which over 2,500 lives were claimed in one of the biggest cities in the world. A designation memorial is less significant in American society as they merely recognize a contribution from a group, person or event to society. Due to the fact that 9/11 was such a tragic event, such a landmark would be classified as a sanctification memorial in order for our country to realize the sacrifice of the workers in those buildings and the heroism of the firefighters that risked their own lives for the sake of others....
