(10-0014) Cost Accounting February 28, 2011 Ms. Sandoval Internet Exercise #1 The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Certification is basically an “advanced certification” that is made so that you can measure both accounting and financial management skills that turns a business into a successful business. The CMA is made in a way that all finance or accounting professionals can join, no matter the level you currently are in within your career, the CMA adapts to your needs expanding your potential. If you complete the CMA program, you will immediately be part of about 30,000 people who are credited in the Certified Management Accounting sector. A Certified Management Accountant normally works only with companies, advising them what is the correct “next step” by doing budgets, financial plans, and things related to taxation compliance. On the other hand, the CPA and more specifically the AICPA works on the public side. Skills such as being a “business savvy” person, possessing good knowledge in technology, having strong leadership and having communication skills are required to be a successful CPA. A Certified Public Accounting needs to pass all of the exams required by the American Institute of Public Accountants. The jobs that a CPA may do range
