Valerie Bodden Kluge Project Management Prof. Carlos 14/3/11 Extra Credit Assignment Having a project isn’t an easy task. It requires patience, skill and the right resources. But all of that doesn’t mean anything if you don’t regularly monitor progress. The main monitoring tasks are performed as part of project integration management. Since changes are inevitable, it is important to con- tinuously monitor performance to assess health and viability, as well as monit- or weak points and adjust budgets and schedules. One of the most common methods to do this is Earned Value Management. This method takes into con- sideration scope, time and cost data, and by analyzing them simultaneously, and entering the current data and comparing it to the starting point. Actual in- formation determines whether the work breakdown structure was completed or not, how much was spent on it, the time spent on it, and most importantly whether it was worth it or not.
