Development The best way to understand the meaning of Management Information System is breaking these words apart and understanding each individually as follows. A system is a scientific method of analysis and observation, and gathering data in order to be able to make a conclusion. Data are only facts and figures and have no value until they are compiled into a system and can provide information to enable the making of decisions. (3) Information is facts provided or learned about something or someone, it is what is used in the act of informing or the state of being informed. It includes knowledge acquired by someone, somehow. “In the 1960s and 70s, it became necessary to formalize educational systems for business so that individuals, work groups, and businesses could have appropriate information.”(3) Technical developments in computers, data processing, and new theories of systems analysis made it possible to make things work in computers.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
