Committee: Economic and Social Council Delegation: Portugal Topic : The role of globalization in helping people out of poverty in a sustainable manner. Delegate: Armando Messina The economic status of a country directly affects the economic status of its inhabitants. Thus, a person can overcome poverty as his nation develops economically. Globalization is a very useful tool that international organizations use to give developing countries the adequate conditions to grow in this sense. Globalization can be defined as “the development of rules by nations to govern international trade for the purpose of increased efficiency in the production and distribution of goods and services.” This international trade has many positive consequences. Among them we can mention the interdependence of countries. Interdependence greatly reduces the likeliness of countries waging war because they depend on each other. Trade also helps increase the total worldwide production of any given product through specialization,
