Overview This chapter in both manuals covers the operation, disassembly, reassembly, and service on the most common transmissions used in the automotive vehicles today. It uses photo sequences to show the procedures that should be followed while servicing these transmissions. Although the steps included in the photo sequences have been taken from the manufacturers’ service manuals, it is wise where possible to use a service manual for the individual transmission that is being worked on.
