Objective: Shop Manual 2 Tools and Materials 14-inch tire and wheel assembly Approximately 50-pound weight (small tool box with tools suggested) Approximately 75-pound weight (medium tool box with tools suggested) a CAUTION : Instructor must maintain close supervision during this exercise to prevent possible injury to the student(s). Procedures Task completed 1. Place items near a waist-high work table. 2. Flex at the knees. Keep your back straight. Lift the tire assembly to the table until the tire is sitting on its tread. 3. Return the tire assembly to the floor, remembering to flex your knees and keep your back straight. Which action, raising or lowering, places the most strain on your body? ______________________________________________________________________ 4. Stand the tire on its tread. Flex at your knees. Use one knee to assist in raising the tire to the table. Lower the tire to the floor using the same techniques.
