Joe Wallace Ace Community Service The organization I chose to research about is called the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. This organization helps to mentor the youth all across the United States. They help with kid’s ages 6 to 18 and work to try and maximize the potential of each maturing kid. There are many facts I found on the web site www.bbbs.org that I felt were very impressive towards the program. Kids that join Big Brothers Big Sisters are 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs, 27% less likely to begin using alcohol, and 52% less likely to skip school. These facts show that the program really helps and is a great way to get out and help the community. To be able to help a young child develop and see them mature would be an incredible experience to be apart of. All that is required of a Big is to merely hang out with their kid and do things such as shoot hoops or play board games. The best thing about this program is that there is an agency right here in the Reno area. It is located on 495 Apple Street and the phone number is (775)-352-3202.
