Police Brutality is something that sadly is becoming more normal today, in the sense that we hear about it a little too often. Police Brutality is considered, the unwarranted or excessive and often illegal use of force against civilians by U.S. police officers. Forms of police brutality have ranged from assault and battery to mayhem, torture, and murder. Some broader definitions of police brutality also encompass harassment (including false arrest), intimidation, and verbal abuse, among other forms of mistreatment (Moore, 2016) . - chokehold-death-video The case I will be talking about today is the infamous story of Eric Garner that started the talks of Police Brutality. This incident which took place in Staten Island, NY the summer of 2014 was seen on video all over the media and news. Eric Garner, 43, an unarmed African American man died after a NYPD Officer placed him in a banned chokehold during a botched arrest over the alleged sale of untaxed cigarettes more than five years ago.
