Pharmacy Topics in Endocrinology SSPPS 298 Winter 2011 Course Directors/Instructors: Chris Armour M.D., Ph.D. Steve Schneid (858) 534-8571 (858) 534-6962 [email protected] [email protected] This course covers selected topics in endocrinology with a focus on pathophysiology and pharmacy applications. There will be two lectures per week (Skaggs Auditorium, Monday/Friday 10:00 - 11:50 a.m.) and TBL activities during the Monday meetings. Students are responsible for all material covered during lecture and in the TBL activities. The grade for this course will be based on a student’s performance on the final exam (Monday March 7). Textbook: This course uses The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics (G&G) 11 th edition as a reference and the relevant chapters are listed on the next page. You are only responsible for the material covered in lectures and during the TBL activities. Attendance: Students must attend the Monday sessions and particpate in the TBL activities. If you know that you are going to be unable to make a session for a valid reason, you need to contact us in advance to let us know. Missed sessions must be made up, as specified by the course instructors. Students who perform poorly on the IRATs are expected to attend follow-up additional sessions. Failure to
