Carleton SzeTo The Unfairness of U.S. Citizenship The process of U.S. Citizenship is said to be easy and fast. But is it really? The period of time between filling out applications and the interview to become an American citizen can vary from five months to more than two years! That is ridiculously hard and slow. Also, the cost of each application is ranged from seventy-five to a hundred twenty-five dollars. By the time all the applications are read and approved for the interview, at least two thousand dollars are spent. The process of U.S. Citizenship is extremely unfair and needs to be changed. The process overall is very complicated. In order to come in the country legally, applications are to be ordered and mailed back within a limited time given. Each application has to be approved, it usually takes one to two weeks before a response is received. If mistakes are made within the application, the process will take even longer.
