Please pick something of interest out of the chapter and tell me about it. Did you like or dislike it? Why do you think it is important to your learning of humanities? I DO NOT want a summary of the chapter reading. If you turn in a summary I will count it as a zero. Man, where to begin. Well I have always enjoyed learning about the Egyptian culture. Through elementary on up to now, I have found that the Egyptians are a symbol of great study. It was nice to see that most of what I had study as a kid was in this chapter. Things like their gods, culture, and social system are the things that I most enjoyed. I did wonder at why they decided that they needed to make and worship gods

Unformatted text preview: like Ra. I have always thought that it would be easier to worship a god that is a god over all things such as our God. However, their worship of these other gods inevitably shaped their culture and in turn shaped their social system. The social system was a very unique system. It involved at divine representative such as the pharaoh who was the closest to the sun god. Then the system went clear down to slavery, which I thought was strange that they would even count a slave to be in a social system. Well over all I thought that this was a very good chapter. I didn’t understand why the chapter would leave out some things like the slaves being the Israelites at a period. I guess it is due to the fact that they do not want to consider the bible as accurate history. It was a very well built chapter about Egyptians regardless....
