Please pick something of interest out of the chapter and tell me about it. Did you like or dislike it? Why do you think it is important to your learning of humanities? I DO NOT want a summary of the chapter reading. If you turn in a summary I will count it as a zero. I have always enjoyed medieval culture. The majority of my pleasure reading, movies, and games have something to do with medieval culture and times. What was really interesting to find out is that what is considered medieval times were actually established around the time that the Germanic people established themselves.

Unformatted text preview: They provided a lot for us including one of my favorite books, Beowulf. The epic of Beowulf takes on one of the themes that most men in the past and the present seek, to be strong, courageous, and to be a hero. Also, the Germanic people provided for us a beautiful art that I think is better than most art. The beauty of it is like most what the older ladies in my church quilt. Eccentric designs of weaving shapes, lines, and colors is what most of the art looks like and is what the quilts look like today. This chapter was pretty cool. Normally when I think about medieval things, I think about swords and knights and beautiful palaces. This chapter let me see it in a whole new light with culture, art, and history. I thought it was a nice change....
