The following is an evaluation of the needs for a human service program concerning
Adult Abuse Protection in the community of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma:
Nature of the Condition
Everyday many adults across the United States face some form of abuse.
This abuse can
be physical, emotional, and/or social.
In 2009 over 20,000 cases of adult abuse were reported in
Oklahoma alone; out of these 17,000 cases were investigated (“Adult Protective Services”,
The Oklahoma Department of Human Services provides a service called Adult Protective
Services which helps adults who are abused by removing them from the abusive environment by
either their own choice or by a court order, if it is deemed necessary.
Abusive situations are
