Iowa State University Fall 2010 Darwin Assignment Biology 211 3. a) How might you account for the prevalence of these two significant misconceptions regarding how science research is done? People think that, because scientists are generally so structured around their work, they have rules and step by step regulations that they must follow and obey. This misconception generally leads to another misconception that the value of scientific claim can only be made through an experiment that is controlled. Because the public thinks that everything in the scientific world is so structured and that scientists are trying to look for certain things, they don’t accept the idea of biological evolution.
