Grading Scale, First Writing Assignment Summer 2011 Assignments that are incomplete will not be accepted, and will be considered late until they have all required components. In order to be considered complete, an assignment must include the following: Observations that have been taken from scholarly sources Photocopies of all sources used, correctly highlighted and labeled A complete list of works cited D-range assignment (characterized by one or more of the following): Observations refer to people or phenomena that existed or occurred outside the period covered in MMW3 Sources are not all scholarly Photocopies/printouts are not highlighted correctly Uses no sources besides assigned course readings C-range assignment (characterized by one or more of the following): Only one topic is explored Not all observations are accompanied by commentary Observations and/or commentary contain factual inaccuracies Does not provide in-text citations for all observations B-range assignment: Explores two or more topics
