ENGR 111/112-Track A, 5 th edition, Custom Published by McGraw-Hill, ISBN: 007-7523529-0 2. Engineering Graphics Package, Pearson, by Camba and Otey, 2010, ISBN: 1256064343 Pre/co-requisite(s): Registration in, or credit for, Math 151, admission to the College of Engineering. Course Description: Topics include, depending upon the major: emphasis on engineering design, performance modeling, and physical testing; computer programming, CAD; fundamentals of engineering science, graphics and communications. Method of Evaluation: Daily Work / RATs, etc. 20% (~1/2 team) Projects (2 or 3): 20% (Mostly team) Major Exams (2): 35% Neither will be curved. (Exam 2 will be entirely in-class, graphics) Comprehensive Exam: 25% May have point value greater than 100, if necessary. Letter Grades A=90-100, B=80-89.9, C=70-79.9, D=55-69.9, F<54.9 These are approximate letter equivalents and we reserve the right to adjust the ranges as required. Team Grades: Any TEAM must insure that all members of the team contribute to and understand the contents of team submissions. All team members who sign a team quiz or assignment will receive equal credit for that team submission. A grade of zero will be assigned to any member not signing a team submission. The TEAM MEMBER grade for the projects includes a peer evaluation. RAT Grades: Missed Rats (scheduled pop quizzes) will receive a grade of zero. The only exceptions are University Approved Absences as verified with a note from ESSAP in ZACH 204. Common Event Schedule: (From the Official TAMU Schedule) Industry Night : Thursday, September 22, from 7-9 PM, Zachry Engineering Center (Optional) Departmental Presentations: Tuesday, October 11, from 7-9 PM (Required) Examination Schedule: Common Exams for All Sections: #1 Wednesday October 5 6:30-8:00PM #2 Week of November 14 Graphics Exam : 100 minutes during regular class time #3 Thursday December 1 6:30-8:00PM With a valid excuse (for example, class or exam conflict), prior approval from your instructor, and approval of the course coordinator alternate exams at 3:00 and 4:30pm may be arranged.
