2 On this Making Calories Count exercise on how to read food labels and have an understanding on what a serving size is, I chose the correct products. I chose the correct serving size and correctly read each food label and made the right choice. I now know that when choosing a food product that is healthy, pay close attention to the: serving size – the number of servings per container, and how many calories are in a single serving. The % DVs- limiting the total fat, which includes saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, and sodium nutrients and making sure that you are getting enough of fiber, Vitamins A and C, calcium, and iron nutrients. Having a better understanding of serving sizes may help me monitor the amount of saturated fat, cholesterol, and calories in my diet because first of all each individuals idea of what an appropriate serving size is going to vary from person to person.
