A viewer can use the rhetorical situation to analyze an image by determining what is trying to be said through the picture. To think about whom the target audience was and what was the purpose of the picture. A writer can use the rhetorical situation when planning to write a paper by using the five elements to help organize its paper. It helps pit the argument together. The writer thinks about who their audience will be and how that will affect how the paper is written. To see what common ground can be found between the writer and audience. 3.
